A Tope is the expression that reflects the spirit of the company.
To be A Tope is to go to the limit of possibilities, in a state of continuous expansion.
Our language is movement and our idiom is acrobatic portes.
Circus, physical theatre and dance are the three fundamental pillars that coexist in our creations, which since 2017 oscillate between the genres of drama and comedy, participating in open spaces, theatres , stages and tents from all over the world.

Curious & daring

There is no discipline he hasn’t flirted with. From dance, teaching, theater and, of course, the circus and its enormous range of scenic possibilities.
After graduating from the National University of San Martín, he worked as a performer in the National Contemporary Circus Company of the same university.
He fell in love with itinerancy and independent work, not without first passing through emblematic theatres and stages in Buenos Aires, such as the Teatro Nacional Cervantes, Centro Cultural San Martín, Tecnópolis and the Centro Cultural Néstor Kirchner.
Driven by his creativity, his critical thinking and his undoubted performing and acrobatic skills, in 2017 he founded the company A Tope to immerse himself in the creation of pieces and shows that amaze, move and mobilize audiences of different ages and parts of the world.

INTUITIVE & DYNAMIC

An ex-gymnast who dreamed of becoming a dancer, stumbles upon the circus and makes it her way of life. Changing the shiny leotards for scenic costumes and the rigid and linear movements for dancing acrobatics and expressive languages.
After her academic studies, with a degree in Circus Arts at the National University of San Martín, she became an active, impulsive and intuitive artist who dared to cross borders to further assert herself as what she is, a professional performer.
She was part of two Belgian companies, Fabuleus and Crique Barbette, with whom she toured various festivals all over Europe, astonishing spectators of different languages with her acrobatic dances.
Always restless and on the move, she is part of and takes ownership of the company A Tope, to take it further and further, producing and creating shows independently, always accompanied by her doubts and fears, those that she demolishes one by one in each performance.

Genre: Delirious comedy

for all audiences

SHH! is the onomatopoeia that silences the word, but cannot silence body language.
Lilah and Pirucho are two characters who communicate with their bodies through acrobatics and pantomime, to share with the audience an universal world, full of absurd and amazing feats.

An explosive duo and a crazy combination of incredible skills and physical clown.

½ kg of magnesium powder and the bodies of two acrobats positioned in a 360° space take center stage, constructing visual metaphors inspired by the image of a building collapse and the emotions that dominate people when a catastrophe approaches.

Genre: "Political Circus"

Audience: over 10 years old

SYNOPSIS:

Rehearsal of a catastrophe arises from questioning the traditional methods of creation used in circus arts, asking:
What would happen if we highlighted the physical needs of the artists and the technical elements required for a circus performance?
In rehearsals, a space for testing and creation, we seek the answers. There, magnesium powder, a typical element of the hand-to-hand discipline, was no longer used solely to execute the feat.
The circular space was designed to provide the audience with different points of view. Technique served the scene, allowing acrobats to show, without fear of judgment, the fatigue, exhaustion, and inevitable sweat.
As a result, a new question arose:
What remains of the circus?

INVESTIGATION

After several years of thinking about our practices, productions and doings, as an independent company, we found ourselves questioning ourselves about the ways of defining what we do, and that is how we decided to embark on the risky adventure of asking ourselves if the genre we call contemporary circus represents us in its entirety.
